Californian Jesca Hoop will be playing at Brighton’s Latest Music Bar early next month. She grew up singing traditional folk tunes but broke away from her background and while working as a nanny for Tom Waits’ children, Hoop gained musical experience. Her debut album ‘Kismet Acoustic’ was released in 2008, her follow up album ‘Hunting My Dress’ was released late last year to rave reviews.
‘Hunting My Dress sounds like the sprouting of a wondrous new talent’ Guardian.
‘Full of musical inventions that back Hoop’s crystal-clear vocals perfectly’ Independent.
‘Devastatingly delicious’ Time Out.
‘Striking debut from Californian-born songstress’ Q.
‘An assured innovative, impressive piece of work’ Observer.
With support from Caroline Weeks and Emily Baker.
