Superfood “Don’t say that” – LP
The debut record from one of the UK’s most promising new acts is easily a winner. From the outset, you feel as though you’ve been transported into the glory days of Britpop. The incessantly addictive rolling beat of “You Can Believe” sounds much like something you’d have heard from Blur or Kula Shaker back in the day. In fact, most of the record sounds like this. It’s great stuff, brilliantly recorded and somewhat invigorating. But, one crucial element that’s missing is that killer single – the one song that truly inserts this band in your subconscious.
7/10, out now, Jimmy Volts
