Following up 2013’s incredibly successful debut “If You Wait” was never going to an easy task; thankfully the trio have managed to maintain what made them so loveable in the first place, whilst introducing enough subtle new elements to make this evolution of the band meaningful. Both moody and beautiful at the same time, Hannah Reid’s haunting vocals consume the album as they soar effortlessly above the minimalist instrumentation that evolves beneath her. From sparse and atmospheric soundscapes, to chilled-out electronic beats, there is an understated coolness to their sound, off-balanced by some huge anthemic pop moments.
Out now, 7/10
