The debut EP from this Colchester-based guitar quartet heralds the arrival of something quite special. “I’ve been living on a pale blue dot. You’ve been living on a pale blue dot too.” The opening line reflects the kind of grand existential ideas at play within frontman Lou Terry’s head, all delivered with a distinctive tone like Brett Anderson channelling a young Bowie. Interpol-esque guitar surges act as exclamation marks to soft folky acoustics and an intrinsic frailty that’s hypnotically solemn. A promising start indeed!
