The debut LP from Maxi Jazz’s first project since Faithless smacks you upside the head with all the grit of a moustachioed seventies cop on a power trip.
Opener “Change Our Destiny” is a brilliant slice of bass-lead latino-funk which suits Maxi’s laid back vocals perfectly.
What follows is a succession of blues rock riffage, retro soul crooning and a festival-friendly sound that’s far removed from Jazz’s electronic roots, yet makes for perfect summer listening with a cheeky tongue-in-cheek delivery.
