If you played Foregone Conclusion’s long awaited debut LP in some suburban greasy spoon cafe on a Sunday morning, it would slide by without anyone batting an eyelid as to its comedic genius.
That’s because, on the face of it, it’s actually got some pretty well-written songs (produced by Andy Burrows of Razorlight).
It’s only when you actually listen to the lyrical content of “Freelove Freeway”, “Thank Fuck It’s Friday” and “Slough” that your initial confusion gives to cringe-heavy belly laughs.
Out now, 1/10
