The much loved all-80s alt/goth club is hosting a huge Halloween party in the basement of Komedia on the 31st of October!
DJs Simon Price and Jayney BlamBlam will spin a set of spooky alternative 80s and goth tunes – plus cult classics from the likes of Ghost Busters and The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Expect party-friendly bangers by such legends as The Cure, Siouxsie, The Cramps, Dead Or Alive, Kate Bush, Soft Cell, The Cult, plus “The Monster Mash”, “Thriller,” “The Time Warp”, and all of the other iconic creepy classics!
The event will feature spooky smoke machines, atmospheric lighting, gothic decor and a fiery cabaret performance from the amazing LauraLoopsHoops to get you in the scary spirit! If you love goth, post‑punk, new romantic, alternative rock, new wave and synth-pop music, this club is perfect for you. Big on authenticity to the original 80s alt / goth clubs, Spellbound offers a welcoming, nostalgic and classic foray into the 80s alternative scene – snakebites and all!!
This event also hosts a monthly tradition of a chance to win a free shot from the bar: all you have to do is catch a pair of white pants launched into the crowd by the DJs. Heads up!!
Spellbound has been running for around for 15 years now, and is an iconic regular night for the alternative people of Brighton – bringing together the OG goths of the 80s as well as the new baby bats of the up-and-coming generation. This special Halloween version of their regular club night is definitely one not to miss – famous for occult costumes and dark gothic vibes – make sure you grab your ticket online before it sells out!
