David Lynch’s painting Bob Finds Himself in a World for Which He has No Understanding (2000) feels like it could be read as alongside his films, almost as if it could be read as a continuous with his film and television work.
Rather than treating his paintings, drawings and photography as separate from his film work, we will explore how narrative world-building emerges outside of his work film work and contributes to a Lynchian uncanny. Shifting between films, paintings, drawings and photography we will explore Lynch’s oeuvre and the way it takes us to the precipice of the homely and the unhomely.
