Notebook Binding Workshop with Funda Yahya
In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn the Coptic stitch binding, a technique where individual sections of paper are sewn through their folds, forming a distinctive chain-like stitch along the spine.
The session will cover selecting vibrant threads and mastering the Coptic binding process.By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created an A5-sized notebook—perfect for presenting work, using as a sketchbook, or gifting to someone special.All materials and tools provided.Funda Yahya is a designer with a deep passion for letterpress printing, notebook binding, and typography. I am a multidisciplinary designer with a strong focus on brand and communication design based in Brighton, UK. Studied Master’s degree in Visual Design from Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. With 16 years of experience, I have worked on a wide range of projects, including corporate identity, design systems, and concept development, across Istanbul, Milan, and the UK. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with incredible companies—from small startups to global corporations—across industries such as publishing, advertising, and software/technology. In my corporate role, I am a Senior Communications Manager, specializing in Communication Design within the Creative team. Beyond my professional career, I have a deep passion for letterpress printing, notebook binding, and typography. Since 2019, I’ve been organising notebook-binding workshops, sharing my love for craft with others. I enjoy exploring museums and bookshops, attending design events, and engaging with others in the design community to nurture innovative networks.
