Join me for a relaxed and creative session in my garden studio, perfect for beginners and anyone curious about oil painting. In this hands-on workshop, I’ll guide you through the fundamentals – including essential tools and materials – with a focus on mark making, working with solvents, and exploring tone.

We’ll be painting from a still life setup, and by the end of the session, you’ll have created your own tonal painting (underpainting) on canvas board – the foundational step in traditional oil painting. It’s a great way to build confidence and begin understanding the painting process.

All materials are provided, including paints, solvents, brushes, and canvas board – just bring yourself! Tea and coffee will be available throughout the session.
