Yvonne Coomber is a Devon-based contemporary artist. Her gorgeous wildflower paintings have captivated the nation and been featured in Vogue, Artstyle, The Independent, and more. Her work is held in private and corporate collections worldwide.
A deep-seated love love of nature is at the heart of Yvonne’s work. Her paintings are a tribute to the wildflower meadows that surround her studio in South Hams. These colorful, textured artworks – created using a mixture of oils, inks, glosses, glazes, fine glitter, and gold leaf – capture a magic that fills viewers with joy and have guaranteed her a loyal following around the world. “Painting for me is a love affair. Spontaneously and instinctively, my paintings demand risk, courage and a weaving of magic out of what emerges. Surrendering to the canvas, I touch the place where mystery lies.”
Art5 Gallery has been a proud supporter of Yvonne for the past decade and a key exhibitor of her work in the South of England. It is always a pleasure hosting her in Brighton, specially given her ties to the city – Yvonne studied Philosophy and Literature at Brighton University, before studying Fine Art in Sussex. We are thrilled to be hosting her for this spring exhibition, entitled All You Need is Love. The exhibition is free and will run from 13^th of April until 21^st of April 2019.
