DESCRIPTION:Come join artists experimenting with our film and media collect
 ion. Four visual artists are making artworks inspired by our city’s cin
 ematic past. Here’s your chance to experiment with them ahead of the wor
 k being exhibited at Hove Museum of Creativity during this year’s Bright
 on Festival in May.\n\nVisitors can meet the artists and collaborate in ac
 tivities designed to engage audiences with an extraordinary archive\, cele
 brating our filmmaking heritage and discover gems from pioneers based in B
 righton\, Hove and Shoreham at the birth of the film industry.\n\nThe comm
 issioned artists\, Sapphire Goss\, Annis Joslin\, Bella Okuya and Connor T
 uransky have been working with materials from luminaries such as George Al
 bert Smith and James Williamson\, who lived and worked in Hove and started
  making films in the 1890s. They both made great advances in filmmaking\, 
 including editing techniques\, the close-up\, use of locations and sets\, 
 and developing film narratives.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWe hope the imaginations of 
 our Wonder Lab visitors will be sparked by the spirit of innovation embodi
 ed in the collection and we can’t wait to see the resulting creations!\n
 \n&nbsp\;\n\nWonder Lab is part of Days of Wonder a three-year project 
 produced by Corridor and Videoclub in partnership with Brighton &amp\;
  Hove Museums with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund\, Arts 
 Council England and Screen Archive South East.
