DESCRIPTION:Create your own Christmas tree from willow.Learn how to make a 
 willow Christmas tree using basketry techniques. We will set the main stak
 es and then use a rope weave to form the shape of the structure. This is a
  perfect way to enjoy some festive making in the run up to Christmas and d
 ecorate your home with your own creations.Crafts using your hands can be a
  therapeutic and an enjoyable experience. Make your very own handmade item

 rdner trained as textile designer\, this sparked her interest in construct
 ed textiles and led to her practicing basketry for the past 7 Years. She i
 s interested in growing and foraging natural materials for making but also
  has a make-do-and-mend approach and is always on the look-out for man-mad
 e materials that can be adapted or useful in basket-making. This requires 
 a lot of testing to work out the qualities of the materials and their suit
 ability for different weaving techniques. As an advocate for the crafts Sa
 rah also helps run a small leather accessories company and teaches and pra
 ctices basketry in Brighton.
