He has walked the line between sonic art\, sculpture and musi c since graduating with an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art in 2 004. Richards has built his own idiosyncratic modular electronic music sys tem\, with which he creates slowly evolving and heavily textured polyrhyth mic improvisations. His individual approach and reductive palette lead to a taut\, rhythmically focused sonic experience.\n\nHe has performed and ex hibited widely in the UK\, as well as internationally in the US\, Germany\ , Peru\, Japan and Sweden.\n\nSelected works and live performances have ta ken place at Tate Britain\, The Queen Elizabeth Hall\, The Science Museum\ , Spike Island\, Cafe Oto\, MK Gallery\, Bold Tendencies\, and Camden Arts Centre.\n\nIn 2018 he completed his PhD (Goldsmiths/Science Museum) on th e work of Daphne Oram: electronic music pioneer\, and founder of the BBC R adiophonic Workshop. This research included the construction of Oram’s u nrealised Mini Oramics synthesizer design (Circa 1975)\, a project that ha s since gained worldwide attention. He is represented by Nonclassical.\n\n \nTom Richards Β· 7pm\n \;\nππŸ‘πŸ–\nA veteran in the underground scene\, by 2008 he had earned multiple residencies across Athens where in 2011 under the name Giles Leon he was a joint organiser of the Single Vis ion warehouse parties but it would be back in the UK among the contrasting industrial cityscapes and spacious subtlety of nature where the N38 proje ct would inevitably be inspired.\n\nIn 2016 after a stint as the in-house sound engineer for Stage 3 at Hackney Empire he made the transition from t he capital\, soon gaining a residency with Wobbly Records and becoming a r egular on the Brighton scene.\n\nHe continues to push forward with his uni que flavour of organic techno- studying\, reflecting and staying active wi th numerous projects including his recent EP β€œJeita” and his first wor ks on vinyl.\n\n \;\n\n\nN38 Β· Epilogue (Act 2)\n \;\n\nStandard entry includes a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival and the option t o buy the album at 20% off at time of ticket purchase.
