SUMMARY:THE LAST OF THE LOVELY DAYS @ THE FOLKLORE ROOMS
DESCRIPTION:Swings &amp\; Roundabouts Promotions Presents\nThe Last Of The
Lovely Days with support from Lovejoy and Keiron Phelan &amp\; Peace Signs
\nTHE LAST OF THE LOVELY DAYS\nStill riding high after the release of thei
r well received debut album ‘No Public House Talk’ last autumn\, Brigh
ton’s own indie-pop band The Last Of The Lovely Days return to The Folkl
ore Rooms on Thursday 26th February 2026 with a specially curated evening
of fine music.\nAfter a successful run sold out shows our headline act\, T
he Last Of The Lovely Days\, will be joined by renowned special guests fro
m Lovejoy and Keiron Phelan &amp\; Peace Signs (more details below). What
a treat!\nThis will be a night not to be missed but don’t just take our
word for it….\nPraise for ‘No Public House Talk’\n“The Last of the
Lovely Days have released one of the indie pop albums of the year with
‘No Public House Talk’.” PENNYBLACK\n"What might have happened if Ki
rsty MacColl had collaborated with choice players in the ‘80s-to-‘90s
guitar-led underground crowd. Replete with resourceful angles and arrangem
ents\, as well as thoughtful songcraft." FREQ\n"A lovely jangly guitar pop
beast of an album wrapped lovingly with charming melodies and hooks that
will linger and help your day be a much more enjoyable experience." MONOLI
TH COCKTAIL\n"Spiky indie pop\, this release feels like a first in spirit\
; lyrically sharp and musically spry." SHINDIG!\n“The melodic confidence
of The Smiths or maybe the Yardbirds\, filtered through a 21st century le
ns\, the album picks carefully from the indie pop spectrum to create a sat
isfyingly complete listen." RnR (****)\n&nbsp\;\nLOVEJOY\nReleasing a stri
ng of well received albums and singles during the late 90s and early 00’
s\, Lovejoy made a surprise return in 2024 with their acclaimed new album
‘…And It’s Love!’ This was followed swiftly by a reissue of their
debut album and a collaboration with Creation Records’ Alan McGee on the
ir 2025 single ‘Let There Be Love’. With a new album and further reiss
ues in the pipeline\, this is a rare solo performance by the little known
but highly rated Lovejoy frontman Dick Preece.\n&nbsp\;\nKEIRON PHELAN &am
 p\; PEACE SIGNS\nKeiron Phelan &amp\; Peace Signs (or\, Peace Sign\, in th
is case) return to The Folkore Rooms in a stripped back\, two piece line u
 p. Keiron and Jack present an intimate version of the rolling Peace Signs
baroque\, chamber pop sound\, featuring some of their less frequently perf
ormed songs. Shades of John Cale and Kevin Ayers\, a suggestion of Marc an
d a soupçon of Harley\, with Neil Hannon lurking just around the corner.
