DESCRIPTION:Lighthouse in partnership with Fabrica presents artists Alberto
  Ruiz Soler and William Fairbrother’s new immersive spatial sound compo
 sition and experiential sensory sculpture\, Paso.\n\nPaso is a memorial to
  an extinct migration route: the chalk land bridge that once connected Bri
 tain to Europe and all the animal migrants (including three species of ea
 rly humans) that crossed it before its collapse due to climate change 450
 \,000 years ago.\n\nYou are invited to take off your shoes\, put on a pai
 r of wireless headphones and explore the sound composition by walking bar
 efoot across an expansive tactile floor sculpture. Visitors will experienc
 e varying levels of temperature throughout the experience referencing th
 e ‘seasonal’ nature of ice ages and changing sea levels that surrounde
 d the bridge throughout its lifetime.\n\nPaso is intended to be a passing
  place that celebrates freedom of movement\; it is free to visit and open 
 to all\, and offers a space to consider the topic of migration from a les
 s human-centred perspective. Paso serves as a reminder of the many animal
  (including human) migration routes that are in jeopardy at the moment an
 d into the future due to the accelerating effect of human decision-making
  and behaviours around the world.\n\nSupported by Arts Council England and
  ReImagine Europe.
