DESCRIPTION:Learn a range of printmaking techniques to create unique monoty
 pe printsMonoprinting is a printmaking process that produces unique\, one-
 off images. We will explore a range of techniques\, including the direct\,
  object\, and subtraction methods. Working on sheets of glass or plastic\,
  we will use rollers\, rags\, cotton buds\, pencils\, and pens to create i
 mages. Objects such as leaves and feathers can also be rolled into the ink
  to capture their texture and shape.We will work with both black and colou
 red printing inks on a variety of papers\, and everyone will have the oppo
 rtunity to use the printing press. These techniques are straightforward an
 d can easily be repeated at home or in your studio.Suitable for all levels
  including artists and complete beginners. No experience necessary.All mat
 erials provided but students are encouraged to bring their own images to w
 ork from\, such as drawings or photographs. There will also be images and 
 objects to inspire you in the studio. Please wear old clothes as printing 
 can be messy.Feedback from previous student: Rachel is an excellent teache

 website.Rachel Cohen studied Art History (BA) at Sussex University and Fin
 e Art (PG Dip) at Brighton. She has an MA in museum and gallery education 
 from the Institute of Education\, London. She learned printmaking at a pri
 vate college in Treviso\, Italy and at Kensington and Chelsea Institute in
  London. Rachel works with wide range of techniques and materials. She mak
 es paintings and sculptures\, site-specific installations and performances
 . Recent projects include residencies in Ireland\, Spain\, Brazil\, Portug
 al and Denmark\, solo exhibitions at Regency Town House and Newhaven Fort 
 and group shows in Brighton\, London and Eastbourne.
