SUMMARY:Leap Then Look Summer School 2019
DESCRIPTION:This summer Leap Then Look are running two\, week-long\, summ
 er schools for children aged 6-9 and 10-13 at Phoenix Brighton. Each will 
 be a five-day adventure in contemporary art\, where children will discover
  a range of new art making techniques through a mixture of structured and 
 open-ended daily activities. The focus will be on working together\, explo
 ring our ideas practically\, using a wide range of inspiring materials and
  looking at the work and processes of contemporary artists working now. Ch
 ildren will work with different media and technology to create their own i
 mages\, videos\, objects\, performances and environments\, always working 
 BIG\, trying things out in new and unexpected ways and asking questions.\n
 The workshops will run Monday – Friday 9am till 5pm. At 4pm on the Frida
 y of each week there will be an exhibition of the work made over the week:
  an opportunity for children to share what they have been doing with paren
 ts and to involve them in the things we have made and experiences we have 
 had together.\nThe Summer School will offer children new ways of thinking 
 about art\, expanding their experience and expectations\, teaching them ho
 w to use art making to pose and answer questions\, developing a critical a
 nd questioning vocabulary. It will give them collaborative skills and deve
 lop a collective sense of pride in their work. Most of all it will be a fu
 n and inspiring experience\, building confidence\, forming friendships and
  supporting well-being.
