DESCRIPTION:This weekend course will introduce you to the basics of oil pai
 ntingDuring this course you will be introduced to the basics of oil painti
 ng\, gaining confidence working with oil paints as you learn through makin
 g. The tutor will guide you through three different ways to start a figura
 tive painting\, showing you how each process affects the painting's outcom
 e and encouraging you to understand which way fits best with your painting
  style and personal goals.This course is beginner friendly\, starting with
  the basics of working in oil paint but also appropriate for those wanting
  to gain confidence.All materials are provided but students are encouraged
  to bring their own brushes if they have them. Please bring a colour photo
 graph that you wish to paint from\, keep this simple e.g. a still life or

 l artist working with painting in the expanded field. They have a BA (Hons
 ) in Painting from the University of Brighton and an MLitt in Fine Art Pra
 ctice from Glasgow School of Art. Their work moves between figurative and 
 abstract painting\, predominately working in oils they engage with the ric
 h history of painting\, exploring ideas of the iteration\, myth\, queer cu
 lture and materiality. Cora has exhibited throughout the UK\, taken part i
 n artist residencies both in the UK and China and worked on multiple commi
 ssions\, with their practice now based at Phoenix Art Space.
