Harrison Dolphin Sextet Live at The Verdict Jazz Club

New Generation Jazz presents

Harrison Dolphin Sextet Live at The Verdict Jazz Club

Harrison Dolphin – guitar

Steve Fishwick – trumpet

Alex Clarke – tenor sax

James Wade-Sired – trombone

Lorenzo Morabito – bass

Matt Fishwick – drums

Comprised of some of the most highly regarded musicians of two generations in the UK jazz scene, Dolphin’s sextet explores an array of his original material, contributions from members of the band and arrangements of jazz standards and compositions.

“I am interested in a harmonic and rhythmic sense where each note and its placement creates a feeling of context that the ear perceives – a certain ‘interval geometry’ that inspired many of the composers of the 20th century, sat comfortably with the context of the jazz expression that gives us room to improvise and swing”

Originally from Southend, Essex, Harrison studies at Trinity Laban and has worked with musicians as diverse as Hermeto Pascoal, Zhenya Strigalev, Alan Barnes, Sam Braysher, Simon Spillett, and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

“Harrison Dolphin has a beautiful sound and touch on the guitar, at times almost making it sound like a horn. His feel and harmonic sophistication make him one of the most outstanding young guitarists to come out of the UK in a long time.” – Grant Stewart, NYC Tenor Saxophonist

“Harrison Dolphin is a major new force in the art and profession of jazz guitar who celebrates all the finest qualities of our music in his work. He is a talent to watch, to listen to, and to admire, and his future in jazz at the highest level is already assured.” – Digby Fairweather, Trumpeter and founder of the National Jazz Archive
