SUMMARY:Epicene- The Gender Blending Celebration Of Iconic Women In Music
DESCRIPTION:Award winning singer songwriter Paul Diello brings hit sell out
show 'Epicene' back to Brighton for one night only!\n\n\n\nPaul Diello in
vites you to his gender-blending celebration of iconic women in music. Aft
er a run of sold out\, five star reviewed and award winning performances f
or three years running at Brighton Fringe Festival\, Paul and his 8 piece
ensemble are bringing Epicene back to Brighton for one night only at Ironw
orks Studios.\n\nSince Epicene made its debut appearance at Brighton Fring
e 2017\, Paul and his band have taken it on the road and performed to crow
ds across the country at theatres\, arts festivals and LGBTQ+ events.\n\nJ
oin the award winning performer and his band on a colourful\, camp cabaret
extravaganza as they reimagine classic songs originally performed by lege
ndary female artists such as Kate Bush\, Madonna\, Whitney Houston and Che
r to name but a few.\n\nDance\, sing\, laugh and cry as Paul interweaves h
is stories of childhood out-castings and social misfittery into well loved
compositions. Every sense will be tantalised in this outrageous\, rainbow
coloured romp. With songs picked from a wide range of genres and time per
iods. Some tunes will take people on an emotional journey of nostalgia and
others will make people want to get up\, dance and sing along (which will
be strongly encouraged).\n\nEpicene is a musical event presented in a cab
aret style that will appeal to a wide audience\, bringing together regular
gig goers\, fans of the theatre and cabaret queens as well as the LGBTQ+
community and its allies.\n\nThe production is a comedic but raw tale of g
rowing up in a world feeling disconnected. Diello says "I wanted to create
a fun platform for me to share my story of gender confusion through music
that was personal to me but that would reach others and spread the messag
e of the ‘It Gets Better’ project” (an organisation whose mission is
to communicate to LGBTQ+ youth around the world that life does get better
)"\n\nPaul Diello has released three LP’s\, 2011’s The Last Green Bott
le\, 2014’s Looking Glass and 2021’s Make Heaven Motherland and has to
ured extensively\, promoting his work across the UK\, Europe and America a
