See what's on & more about the venue at the above location page / link.Returning to Komedia after their sold-out affair with Emma-Jean Thackray last October, this time, as part of a nationwide tour, Brazilian Wax will be bringing the inspirational and influential DJ and label founder, Trepanado (Selvagem, Selva Discos) all the way from Brazil.
With a swathe of weird and wonderful reissues on his Selva Discos (plus some tried-and-tested dancefloor-fillers under his belt), as well as much-loved compilations on New York’s Hello Sailor label, Brazilian Wax are thrilled to share Trepanado’s wildly diverse repertoire with UK audiences.
The Leeds-based duo are a familiar fixture within Europe’s most border-pushing, globe-spanning club scene, hosting a London residency, and playing with the likes of: Mafalda, Mr Bongo, Nubya Garcia and, Boiler Room founder, Thris Tian. Brazilian Wax are unique for their dedication to the musical content of one country. As the ‘world music’ label is finally being called out as problematic, Brazilian Wax consistently throw genre-spanning, pulse-racing parties engaging specifically with Brazil’s rich musical tapestry
