DESCRIPTION:Michelle Abbott and Patrick O'Donnell revisit their artist talk
 s from the Phoenix Spotlight series to accompany their current exhibition.
 In September 2025 Michelle Abbott and Patrick O'Donnell were invited by th
 e Phoenix Spotlight organisers to give talks on their creative practice. T
 hat evening was the jumpstart to collaborating on Out of Line - a joint ex
 hibition in Phoenix Window Gallery 8-31st May 2026.To accompany the exhibi
 tion\, Lines Of Enquiry will revisit the original Spotlight talks\, highli
 ghting the artists' inspirations\, works and crossovers.Doors open at 6pm\
 , with a chance to see the exhibition before talks start at 6.30pm.Michell
 e works with threads as both a drawing and sculptural medium to challenge 
 the material itself\, and traditional concepts of painting\; blurring boun
 daries between art and craft. Her current series’ investigate dynamics o
 f human relationships\, the history of Victorian tailors in London’s Eas

 ick oscillates between painting and printmaking. He is interested in the n
 otion of transition between real and metaphorically constructed space\, th
 e boundaries and opacities of colour\, line and edge\, and the subsequent 
 effects of when they meet\, merge or dissolve. Recent work takes inspirati
 on from details of his immediate environment\, domestic settings\, and pla
 ces of personal connection\, with glimpses of intersections that commonly
