DESCRIPTION:Originally a string quartet formed at the Reykjavík College of
  Music in the late 1990s\, amiina went on to cut their teeth as Sigur Rós
 ' string section for the next decade.\nJoin amiina for the UK premiere of 
 their latest adventure\, Fantômas. Originally composed as a live score to
  the silent masterpiece from 1913\, amiina's members decided right from th
 e start that the music would also be able to stand on its own\, independen
 t of the visual narrative. For this performance Fantômas will be screened
 \, and the piece played as a live score.\nMelancholic and ethereal\, yet f
 ull of suspense and pounding rhythms\; the piece is full of contrasts - fr
 om darkness and utter terror to heavenly melodies. The music is thoughtful
 ly composed\, with recurring themes and leitmotifs building up a delicate 
 structure that links the piece into one entity. Violin\, cello\, drums\, p
 ercussion\, metallophone\, table harp\, ukulele and electronics are the so
 urce material for the sound world of amiina here\, with intelligent and im
 aginative use made of the different instruments and their varied and endle
